Crimsonfern

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly rigid; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
