Amberleaf Coconut Flower

Flower type: Biennial (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)

This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its amber stem is very thick and straight, and the miniature, green leaves are asymmetrical with ripped edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

2 to 6 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are cyan on the underside and red on the top. The flower head is made up of 6 petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like coconut, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
