Copper Lilac Succulent

This small caudiciform grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The narrow stem is lime green, and is dotted with small grey spines. It has a wavy, slender, green trunk atop a thick clump of cracked, exposed roots. The branches are thick and gray-green and are short and slender.

The serrated-edged, long, tapering leaves are found in bold purple, bold green and purple varieties. They are strong, and do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with alternating petals of indigo and bold purple, with a bronze central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of raised round-tipped petals. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cigarette smoke.

The caudiciform's skin is delicate, the copper flesh is leathery, and the lilac sap is thin.
