Waterstem Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This big tree grows up to 78 meters (255.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 661 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in thin, waxy, brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with thick bunches of fuzzy, huge, very thin leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are violet and caramel.

In late summer it forms large, bold purple aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

Several parts of the shrub have medicinal properties.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
