Silverleaf Violetbell

This giant tree grows up to 136 meters (446.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 374 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, silver bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow-brown.

The small bunches of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of waxy, large, slender, pointed leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are violet and caramel.

In early spring, it produces thousands of small, indigo blossoms with many layers of petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an intensely strong scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

In late summer it forms tiny, silver, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
