Blackwood

This big tree grows up to 67 meters (219.8 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3303 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in fine, ridged, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale yellow.

The abundance of branches trail down across the ground, with hundreds of twigs covered with handfuls of large, slate or light brown needles. The needles themselves are resilient.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, brown, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
