Silverfruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 17 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, crooked trunk covered in very thick, silky, silver and white bark, and inside, the very dense wood is gray.

The extensive patches of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small bunches of giant, very narrow and elongated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are pale red on the edges and turquoise at the center.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of tiny, copper blossoms with 4 oblong shaped petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like old shoes.

In late autumn it produces , fan-like fruit. The smooth olive skin is peel-able and inedible, and the very soft black flesh is extremely spicy and dry. The light grey seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
