Orange Spike

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This giant cactus grows up to 146 feet (44.5 meters) tall. The thick stem is orange, and is dotted with small red spines. The spherical body is yellow-green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible hazel spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 16 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid cyan petals and a dark brown central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 48 curved petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like varnish.

The cactus's skin is thick, the turquoise flesh is waxy, and the purple sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
