Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 74 feet (22.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in very thick, wrinkled, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy.

The abundance of branches are very short and slender and are covered with thick bunches of giant, thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are olive and purple.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of large, olive blossoms with oval-shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cheap aftershave.

In late autumn it produces , triangular fruit. The fuzzy bold blue skin is peel-able and edible when roasted; it is sweet, and the very soft brown flesh is sweet and dry. The beige seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
