Bloodvine

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The finger-like stem is gray, and is dotted with small green spines. The straight, blood red trunk can grow to as much as 5 feet (1.5 meters) in diameter in the middle. Its pastel orange or drab green branches trail down across the ground and start growing at the top the stem.

The large amounts of serrated-edged, pleated leaves are solid purple or peach, with slate zig-zags. They are delicate, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is very slow growing, taking 41 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid sky blue petals decorated with lilac lines and a light purple central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 27 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like alcohol.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the azure flesh is rough, and the green sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.
