Indigo

This modest-sized flower grows up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is wispy and straight, and the small, emerald leaves are very narrow and elongated with jagged edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

3 to 7 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 44 cm (17.3 inches) wide, with indigo petals that gradient shift to dark brown on the outer edge. The central disk is lilac. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 20 petals. They are very delicate.

It has a strong scent that smells like blood, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
