Orange Glow

This small cactus grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The perforated stem is vivid orange, and is dotted with small cream spines. The wedge-shaped body is brown, and is covered in handfuls of fine, light brown, hair-like spines.

It is fast growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with alternating petals of turquoise and amber, with a light purple central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of 12 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like freshly baked bread.

The cactus's skin is rock-hard, the azure flesh is waxy, and the purple sap is thin.
