Crimson Trumpet

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its green stem is very thin, and the large, peach leaves are 2 pointed with jagged edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Many small flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with crimson petals and a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet with 15 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like damp, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
