Copperwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 562 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, dark gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is copper-coloured.

The branches are very long and thin and are covered with small amounts of leathery, miniature, needle-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gray with washed-out red tips.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, magenta berries.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
