Crimson Succulent

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 59 feet (18.0 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 2 needle-like stems. Each stem is red, and is covered in handfuls of flexible lime spines. The spherical body is dull red, and is dotted with small bronze spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 15 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are cyan in the center, azure in the middle and green at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a tube made up of dozens of raised, round-tipped petals. It has a soft scent that smells like leather.

The cactus's skin is thin, the crimson flesh is slimy, and the dark brown sap is thin.

It can flourish even in standing water.
