Bronzeleaf Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is brown, and is covered in brittle bronze spines. The smooth-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are orange on the edges and deep green at the center. Large amounts of them grow from the base in tight-packed layers. The leaves are strong, and take some effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 11 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are cyan in the center, azure in the middle and green at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing once every 8 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like apple.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the turquoise flesh is rough, and the caramel sap is thin.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The sap is edible and overwhelmingly sour.
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
