Silvervine

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its silver stem is very thin, and the miniature, emerald leaves are very thick with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with petals that are dull red on the edges and olive at the center. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 54 raised, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has an intensely strong scent that smells like lemon, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
