Durian Oak

This modest-sized tree grows up to 8 meters (26.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 551 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in delicate, waxy, light brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pine-coloured.

The tangled mess of branches are very long and slender and are covered with handfuls of rough, giant, thick leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are yellow with dull orange tips.

In late summer it forms small, light brown, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
