Silkwood

This massive tree grows up to 146 meters (479.0 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 84 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, crooked trunk covered in very thick, silky, brown bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow.

The excessive amount of branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with copious amounts of sticky, miniature, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid magenta or slate, with gentle purple splotches.

In late summer it forms tiny, blood red, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
