Blueberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 67 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, crooked trunk covered in hard, smooth, brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is gray.

The tangled mess of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with very large amounts of giant, very narrow and elongated leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either orange or blue, with slate splotches.

In early spring, it produces many tiny, gentle purple blossoms with long, tapering petals. They are sturdy and have a faint scent that smells like warm milk.

In mid-summer it produces small, 7 pointed fruit. The soft slate skin is peel-able and edible when roasted; it is extremely salty, and the very soft crimson flesh is sweet and spicy and juicy. The olive seed is tiny and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
