Emerald

This small caudiciform grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The thick stem is emerald, and is covered in handfuls of flexible purple spines. The twisting, grey trunk can grow to as much as 1 foot (30.5 cm) in diameter in the middle. Its gray branches are tall, rigid and upright and start growing at the base the stem.

The large amounts of smooth-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are either lime, or hazel with faded purple dots. They are durable, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 16 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid violet petals decorated with aquamarine dots and a green central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 8 petals in raised layers. It has an overpowering scent that smells like apple.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the bronze flesh is slimy, and the lime sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
