Magenta Pineapple Flower

Flower type: Perennial (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)

This average-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow and olive stem is thick and splits into 7 branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the giant, orange-yellow and olive leaves are very thick with toothed edges. 20 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Several large flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of magenta. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 21 curved petals. They detach easily.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like pineapple, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
