Blue Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 74 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, brown-green bark, and inside, the very hard wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of giant, slender, pointed leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in silver and caramel varieties.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of large, grey blossoms with perforated petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like candle wax.

In mid-autumn it produces tiny, fan-like fruit. The soft purple skin is thin and sweet, and the soft vibrant blue flesh is salty and very juicy. The intense green seeds are large and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

The leaves are high in natural sugars.
