Mahogany

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 43 meters (141.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 358 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in fine, ridged, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is silver.

The tangled mess of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of waxy, huge, slender, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are aquamarine and gentle orange.

In late summer it forms giant, hazel, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It can absorb up to 11 times its own weight in water.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
