Bronze

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 52 feet (15.8 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is moss green, and is covered in handfuls of rigid grey spines. It has a wonky, round, grey trunk atop a very thick web of knobbly, exposed roots. The branches are stocky and pink and are short, rigid and upright.

The serrated-edged, wispy leaves are bronze on the edges and light brown at the center. They are frail, but take some effort to detach.

It is fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with olive petals and a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of tightly layered narrow petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like grass cuttings.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the red flesh is sticky, and the white sap is thin.
