Golden Trunk Succulent

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The thick stem is deep yellow, and is covered in brittle olive spines. The wavy, caramel trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter at the top. Its brown branches trail down across the ground and start growing at the base the stem.

The very large amounts of jagged-edged, very thin leaves are found in beige, dark grey and black varieties. They are delicate, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is very slow growing, taking 23 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid brilliant green petals decorated with aquamarine dots and a bright orange central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like new books.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the lime flesh is sticky, and the indigo sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
