Amber

This giant fruit tree grows up to 59 feet (18.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 31 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a very thick, curved trunk covered in fine, waxy, dark brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of huge, sickle shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are green with pale orange tips.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of large, amber blossoms with oblong shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intense scent that smells like lavender.

In early summer it produces tiny, oval fruit. The sticky brown skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft sky blue flesh is sweet and very juicy. The dark brown seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
