Crimsonvine

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its red stem is very thick, and the small, emerald leaves are long, narrow with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Two giant flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are blood red in the center, vibrant yellow in the middle and slate at the edges. The flower head is largely flat with 43 raised narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like candle wax, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
