Yellow Splitheart

This average-sized cactus grows up to 22 feet (6.7 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 5 narrow stems. Each stem is yellow, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid lime spines. The cuboid body is yellow-green, and is dotted with small olive spines.

It is very fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with muted purple petals that gradient shift to black on the outer edge. The central disk is pink, grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a heart made up of 9 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a faint scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the olive flesh is waxy, and the amber sap is thin.
