Bronzefern

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 122 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, curved trunk covered in fine, smooth, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is copper-coloured.

The tangled mess of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with thick bunches of crispy, giant, very thick leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are moss green with bronze tips.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, muted green seed pods.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).

It is slightly resistant to fire damage.
