Bloodfire

This small leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is orange-yellow, and is dotted with small grey spines. The tattered-edged, circular leaves are blood red on the edges and dark brown at the center. Large amounts of them grow from the base in a symmetrical pattern. The leaves are hardy, and take some effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 13 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid slate petals decorated with bronze lines and a slate central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 7 years. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like blood.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the ashy blue flesh is sticky, and the intense green sap is thin.
