Silverleaf Crimsonrose

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 147 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many very thick, straight stems covered in delicate, cracked, silver bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches are very short and thick that and are covered with handfuls of giant, shield-shaped, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in cyan, blood red and aquamarine varieties, tough and fuzzy.

In mid-spring it produces a handful of large, red flowers with 2 cylindrical shaped petals. They detach easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like citrus.
