Clinging Silkbrush

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This huge shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for around 48 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, straight stems covered in thin, silky, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with small amounts of tiny, thick, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in purple and cream varieties, hardy and smooth.

It produces hundreds of tiny, cyan flowers with 8 heart-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like damp. In mid-autumn it forms largegreen seed pods.

It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It has impressive regenerative properties.
