Bluebell
Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is wispy, and the large, gray-green leaves are brown on the underside and are V-shaped with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
Two small flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are generally florescent blue; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 38 curved petals. They fall easily.
It has a weak scent that smells like sweat, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
