This gold moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In bogs.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly delicate.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
