Silkwood

This average-sized tree grows up to 13 meters (42.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 260 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, twisting trunk covered in thin, silky, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is burgundy.

The extensive patches of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of soft, large, very narrow and elongated leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in black and red varieties.

In late summer it forms giant, peach aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
