Crimson Flower

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its pink-red stems grow in bunches of 6 and are very thin with a curved tip, and the giant, brown leaves are grey on the underside and are stiff, pointed with irregular edges. 7 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Hundreds of giant flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are generally amber; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has no scent, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
