Waterstem Bush

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 125 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many wide, straight stems covered in thick, rough, brown bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches trail down towards the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of giant, kidney-shaped, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are caramel with silver tips, frail and sticky.

In late summer it produces hundreds of medium-sized, white flowers with 4 V-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like rotten eggs.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for making paper
