Twistpine

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 56 meters (183.7 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in delicate, rough, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pine-coloured.

The thin clumps of branches are short stubs, covered with large amounts of miniature, green needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces large, black, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

The stems are covered in large spikes.
It comes in 30 varieties.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
