Limeflare

This small caudiciform grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The slender, pointed stem is green, and is covered in handfuls of rigid lime spines. The straight, lime trunk can grow to as much as 1 foot (30.5 cm) in diameter at the top. Its orange-yellow branches are very short and thin and start growing at the base the stem.

The large amounts of smooth-edged, spear shaped leaves are a shade of green that gradient shifts to orange at the top. They are strong, but easily come away when pulled.

It is fast growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid gentle yellow petals decorated with olive dots and a aquamarine central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 57 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the slate flesh is slimy, and the green sap is thin.
