Browncone Pine

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3166 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, dark brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white with black speckles.

The small bunches of branches are short stubs, covered with handfuls of small, orange-yellow needles. The needles themselves are robust.

In late summer it produces tiny, light brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
