Purplegrass
Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This modest-sized, pink-red grass grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The needle-like stalks grow in extensive patches that are prone to bending and snapping under stress and they overwhelm an area rapidly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, deep purple tuft.
During the late summer, it produces very little pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of small grains.
