This yellow moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In rainforests.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very light; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
The sap causes itchiness of the skin
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
