Aquamarinefern

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This giant shrub grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for around 22 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several narrow, straight stems covered in fine, ridged, light brown bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, very thick, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are red on the sides and aquamarine at the center, flimsy and rough.

In early summer it produces a thick sheet of small, hazel flowers with stiff, pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have the faintest scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
