Spiralwood

This modest-sized tree grows up to 53 meters (173.9 feet) tall and lives seemingly forever, with many known specimen being tens of thousands of years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in hard, rough, gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is light brown.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy, with dozens of twigs covered with small bunches of large, brown needles. The needles themselves are light.

In late summer it produces giant, pastel orange, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
