Indigo

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 154 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several slender, crooked stems covered in hard, rough, silver bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are very short and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of giant, very narrow and elongated, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are grey and indigo, strong and covered in fine hairs.

In late spring it produces dozens of large, green flowers with needle-like petals. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like freshly baked bread.
