Violet Creeper

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 37 feet (11.3 meters) and growing as high as 130 feet (39.6 meters).

It takes 3 years for the red stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are smooth and waxy.

The wide, fuzzy leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are found in purple, violet and violet varieties, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces thousands of small lilac flowers.


It can flourish even in standing water.
