Copperleaf

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This big tree grows up to 61 meters (200.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 426 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a slender, crooked trunk covered in paper-thin, knobbly, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is white with black speckles.

The sparse amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with handfuls of smooth, giant, thick leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are solid orange or copper, with light brown edges.

In late summer it forms small, red, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

All parts of the grass are edible.
It blooms only at night.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
