Caramel Spine Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 6 pleated stems. Each stem is moss green, and is covered in large amounts of flexible caramel spines. The tear-shaped body is gray-green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible lilac spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 12 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid lilac petals decorated with red lines and a olive central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 18 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like onion.

The cactus's skin is rock-hard, the brown flesh is waxy, and the turquoise sap is thin.
