Bloodfire

This short cactus grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The pleated stem is gray-green, and is covered in sharp spines. The spherical body is slate and moss green, and is covered in many rigid blood red spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with orange petals that gradient shift to blood red on the outer edge. The central disk is white, grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like skunk spray.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the bronze flesh is rubbery, and the vibrant orange sap is thin.
